Welcome!

We have had the pleasure of teaching with each other for the past 7 years. The majority of that time we were side-by-side neighbors, but now we are right around the corner from each other. Our shared passion of reading has led us down this current path. During our master's degree program we began providing professional development workshops for our school system.
Everyday in our classrooms we try, do, & explore... talking about what worked & didn't work with other teachers is just an added bonus.

We chose to attend 2 literacy events this summer. First up was the Scenic City Literacy Conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Lester Laminack presented during the general session of day 1 and, as always, gave an entertaining talk. Day 2's general session was presented by Ralph Fletcher! Having never met or heard Ralph in person we were excited to soak in everything he had to say about working with our writers.

Our second literacy event was a Choice Literacy workshop in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Cheryl spent the day with "The Sisters", Gail Boushey & Joan Moser, learning about CAFE in the Classoom. Mandy spent the day with Katie Doherty learning about Readers in the Middle.

Today we made a couple of side trips on the way home from Massachusetts to The Eric Carle Picture Book Museum and The Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden. We'll post more about those amazing places and share pictures when we finally make it back home!

Thanks for joining us as we share what magic can occur when kids & books mesh.
